Sukkot Speakers

The Season of Our Joy festival site is unique in many ways.  Some of those ways concern our speakers and the speaking arrangements.  We are not a church nor are we affiliated with any particular organized church, thus we are able to have speakers who  challenge our thoughts concerning God, His ways, and the future Messianic Kingdom.  Since the speakers are not paid, they are free from church dogma, or their paycheck, and are thus able to bring information that may be somewhat "out of the box".  Some may say that this is not "safe" - that having teachers who are not confined to a certain theology could invite the adversary to infiltrate.  We reject that view since we've seen the adversary infiltrate highly structured organizations, with very precise doctrines, and lead many, if not most, of the "sheep" away.  Our belief is that it's more safe to broaden the theological spectrum, thus creating a environment where the audience is actually challenged to "check these things out".  By so doing, the audience is more equipped to face the challenges of the adversary than they would be if they were only exposed to "spoon-fed religion".

Never-the-less, we are concerned about those who are "new" to the walk.  Therefore, we make the speakers accountable to the audience by providing a minimal set of requirements for both the speakers and the audience so that those who are more "seasoned" may be able to provide a cover for those who are new.  These requirements are that:

How Can You Become a Season of Our Joy Speaker?

In most cases, speakers are chosen from within the ranks of those who have attended the SOOJ festival in the past and who are already planning to attend the SOOJ this year.  We do this so that the speaker is familiar with what we do, familiar with the audience, and because we are not looking for speakers who are only attending so they can speak.  In addition, we choose speakers who have proven to be dedicated to observing the Torah and thus attend the festivals regularly, though not necessarily with SOOJ.  We are more interested in teachers who are more grounded in the Hebraic walk than those who may have a lot of theological knowledge.

In some cases speakers are chosen from the ranks of "Hebraic" teachers with whom the SOOJ leadership is familiar via conferences, books, presentations, or their web site.

Our Main Sessions and Break-Out Sessions are for the purpose of providing information relevant to the Hebrew walk, and are not be used to advertise or lead any person to sign up for or to support a particular ministry or business.  Sometimes FREE information is handed out, but not to solicit personal information or funds from the audience.  Anything that a speaker might want to sell should be made available in the Resource Room.

If you would like to become a speaker, you should:

IMPORTANT NOTICE

We choose speakers who believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah and who believe that the five books of Moses (the Torah) are valid for all time - defining the way of life for the people of God whether they be Jewish or non-Jewish. Though Season of Our Joy does believe that all their speakers have insight into the scripture that might add to a person's spiritual growth, we do not necessarily agree with or endorse everything they teach - either verbally, in writing, or on their own websites.  Nevertheless, we understand maturity and the importance of working together when we can agree upon fundamental principles of unity and the Hebraic walk.

Therefore, it is important that you - the listener - weigh all that a speaker says or writes against what the Bible has to say before accepting it as 'truth'.
