Scripture states that we are to Rejoice using various plants during The Festival of Sukkot.

"And you shall take for you on the first day, the fruit of the tree ‘hadar’ and branches of palm trees, and a bough of the tree avot and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Hashem, your G-d, seven days." (Leviticus  23)

It is the tradition among many Believers to fulfill this Torah instruction by waving or shaking a Lulavim {a palm, myrtle, and willow branch bundled together) while dancing and singing to a song of rejoicing. We will be participating in the "shaking of the lulavim" during the morning praise and worship session each morning of the festival.  Various teachings will be given on the use of the lulav during the festival.  Though we are not providing the lulavim, there are a number of sources on the Internet where you may purchase them.  In the past we have bought our lulav from David Wiseman in Dallas, Texas.

Worshipping with the  Lulavim

If you are unable to purchase a lulav prior to the festival, the teens will be putting together a number of "practice lulavim".  These will be made from species that closely match the four species listed in Leviticus 23 and will be made available on a first come, first serve basis beginning the first morning during the festival.
